We live in a world where human creativity intersects with machine intelligence in a way it never has before, sparking a dialogue that blurs the lines between the organic and synthetic. Dark Canvas is a video series that interchanges roles of both the human and machine elements within each piece. At times all video and audio has been recorded by myself, other times being generated from input of my artwork into different AI applications and models. The Last Bird, for example, contains all user created video content and sound design, however the narrator has been compiled from multiple AI generated voices. In a different process, Dream State, a large portion of the video content was generated by AI interpretation of a painting of mine.
**This series was created in the early onset of AI tools, before I understood the environmental devastation and societal impacts of using them.
